DTTA’s 11th Quincenal Tourney
Hello Table Tennis players and friends!
Last Saturday, May 30th, Denver Table Tennis Alliance held our 11th QUINCENAL Tourney, and it went great!
We are happy we had a lot of players competing in the 3 different Divisions, with more first-timers joining this QUINCENAL Tourney. This time, father and son, Matin and Sebastian Wiser.

C Division-

The winner in A Division received a $40 dollars cash, a Butterfly Cure Water rubber cleaner bottle, and a 10 pack of PepPod. The winners in B and C Divisions each received $30 dollars cash, a Butterfly Cure Water rubber cleaner bottle and a 10 pack of PepPod. The runners up in A, B and C, each received a $15 dollar Butterfly Gift Certificate and a 10 pack of PepPod.
C Division had two groups. Group 1 was formed by Lisa “Legs” You, Alexandra “Alex” Djoumaliev, Brandon Loi, Martin Wiser and Jared Peterson.
Lisa vs Jared: 11-7, 4-11, 11-7, 11-4
Alex vs Martin: 3-11, 9-11, 8-11
Brandon vs Lisa: 10-12, 11-6, 9-11, 6-11
Martin vs Jared: 11-8, 11-6, 11-7
Alex vs Brandon: 11-8, 0-11, 11-9, 11-9
Lisa vs Martin: 3-11, 9-11, 8-11

These results left Martin passing to the next round in first place, undefeated. Second place in the Round Robin was earned by Lisa “Legs” You, who lost only to Martin.
Group 2 of Division C was formed by Mike Wood, Micah Cohen, Ying Chen and Sebastian Wiser.
Mike vs Sebastian: 11-6, 11-6, 11-3
Micah vs Ying: 6-11, 11-7, 11-5, 9-11, 11-1
Ying vs Mike: 11-9, 11-9, 8-11, 12-10
Micah vs Sebastian: 11-4, 11-8, 11-2

Mike vs Micah: 11-8, 6-11, 6-11, 8-11
These results left Micah, with an impressive performance, passing in first place undefeated, followed by Ying, who lost only to Micah in what was the best match of the RR.

Congratulations to Martin Wiser, who, participating for the first time in our Q Tourney, took it home! Congrats also to Lisa who is always giving a good fight in our Q’s!
B Division had a big RR formed by Tan “Bruce” Loi, Ade “Ade” Adetakwi, Keenan Southall, Nick “The Sweaty Giant” Johnson, Hristo “Chris, The Bulgarian” Djoumaliev, “Val” Gorodin and Camy Lau.

These results left Ade passing undefeated to the next and final round, followed by Keenan, who only lost to Ade in a very tight match.
Finals
Ade vs Keenan: 10-12, 11-8, 7-11, 8-11
Congratulations, Keenan! You are definitely improving, and you played even better the second time around against Ade, who couldn’t make it against you twice in this Q!
A Division had two groups. Group 1 was formed by Basil Ibegbu, Nobuyuki “Nobu” Shiogai, Loi Pham and Carlos Pinzon.
Basil vs Carlos: 9-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-5
Nobu vs Loi: 11-6, 12-10, 11-7
Loi vs Basil: 12-10, 11-6, 14-12
Nobu vs Carlos: 12-10, 11-5, 14-12
Carlos vs Loi: 5-11, 10-12, 12-14
Basil vs Nobu: 8-11, 11-6, 11-8, 11-7
These results left this very tight RR with a triple tie in matches between Basil, Nobu and Loi. After calculating the games won/lost ratio, the one game Nobu won against Basil left the Japanese player passing in first place. Since Loi beat Basil 3-0, the Vietnamese player made it to the next round in second place.
Group 2 of A Division was formed by Hai Xue, Edward “Ed” Yue, Antonio Varela and John Miller.
Hai vs John: 11-6, 11-4, 11-3
Ed vs Antonio: 11-7, 6-11, 11-6, 8-11, 12-14
Antonio vs Hai: 10-12, 7-11, 9-11
Ed vs John: 11-3, 11-7, 9-11, 12-10

These results left Hai passing the RR undefeated in first place to the next round. Antonio, with an impressive performance against Ed in particular, passed the RR in second place.

All players who participated in our 11th QUINCENAL Tourney received 1 Participation Point towards qualifying for the raffle (between the 5 players with most Participation Points) at the end of the year for a 7-Day Trip to Peru!
Players who ended in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th position in each Division of this Q Tourney received 4, 3, 2 and 1 Performance Points, respectively. The winners of each Division with the most Performance Points at the end of the year will receive a great prize from Butterfly!
