The 2015 Butterfly LA Open is a 4-star USA Table Tennis sanctioned tournament on September 5th & 6th at the Los Angeles Badminton Club in El Monte.
This year, the Butterfly LA Open offers over $36,000 in total prize money and the Open Singles champion will receive $10,000. In addition, the LA Open Committee has arranged for the 2012 London Olympic Men’s Team silver medalist, Joo Saehyuk, to participate. As of June 2015, Joo Saehyuk is ranked 16th in the world.
The LA Open Committee has stated that in the past four years, the “LA Open has attracted over 300 players and 2,000 fans from virtually every corner of the world. Canadian Olympian Wang Zhen (Eugene) won the 2011 Open Singles event, and German player Dimitrij Ovtcharov, currently the world’s 6th ranked player, was the Open Singles champion in 2012 and 2013. Last year’s champion was Chuang Chih-Yuan, currently the world’s 13th ranked player.”
The entry form for the 2015 Butterfly LA Open is now available. An early bird discount of 10% on tournament fees is offered until July 31st (excludes USATT membership fees).
