Mizutani - All Japan Champion

BUTTERFLY FAVORITES: Jun Mizutani (World No. 17)

(by Steve Hopkins)

This video is of the 2019 All-Japan Championship.  It was a dominant performance by Jun Mizutani.  This was not the first time that he raised his game in front of the home fans as this marked his 13th year in the event, never finishing lower than the semifinals.  After the 2019 win, Mizutani retired from the event.  The 2020 winner being the young Tomokazu Harimoto – perhaps a changing of the guard to the next generation.  But for the last decade, this event has been dominated by Jun Mizutani – posting a record of 75-3, a 96% winning percentage which included winning 6 in a row.

Enjoy this highlight reel of Mizutani using his quickness to land big shot after big shot in his final match before retiring from the All-Japan Championship.

Jun Mizutani uses the best selling Mizutani Jun Super ZLC blade and Dignics 80 on both sides.  The Mizutani pro-line combination is currently on sale through ButterflyOnline.com
