2020 ITTF Men's World Cup: Tomokazu Harimoto

Butterfly Favorite: The Evolution of Harimoto

Posted on

(by Steve Hopkins)

From a very young age, Japan’s Tomokazu Harimot0 was destined to make his mark on this sport.  Ten years ago, he was dominating age groups in Japan (age groups that in Japan have cute names like the Bambi Division and the Turnip Division – he won both twice).  In 2016 he was the best Junior in the world, and he won his first tour even just a year later – the Czech Open.

Harimoto is now the 4th ranked player in the world, and he won’t be 18 until this Summer.  He should grow a few more inches (he’s 5’10”), he’ll put on another 25-35 lbs (he’s only 140 lbs), and he’ll continue to develop and excel.  Its just a matter of time before Harimoto rises even further.

Tomokazu’s signature blade is on sale this week out ButterflyOnline.com.  Check out the Harimoto Innerforce ALC Blade.
