Ask The Experts: Truong Tu, No. 383

Posted on Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer Question:  Hello, as already written, for the last two months I’ve been playing with Timo Boll ALC but sometimes it feels too hard and I can’t feel the ball the way I would like to. Can you briefly compare TB ALC with Innerforce ALC and Innerforce ALC.S (speed, hardness, control)? Would it be a good choice to change my current blade with one of the mentioned Innerforce blades to solve my problem or keep on playin with TB ALC for some more time trying to get used to it? Thank you Answer:

This Ask the Experts question was answered by Truong Tu. Truong plays at the Silicon Valley Table Tennis Club in San Jose, CA. Coach Tu’s response is as follows:
Hi Ronald, Please see comparison below: You are currently using Sriver rubber, I would recommend you try spring-sponge rubber FX version which is softer. Another solution is you can change to a softer blade like the Innerforce ALC or Innerforce ALC.S. If it is still too hard for you, then the combination of softer blade and softer rubber would be a good choice since that would definitely give you more dwell time = more feeling. If you would like to have more information on the ALC.S, please follow the link here.
