Ask The Experts: Truong Tu, No. 311

Posted on Ask The Experts: Truong Tu, No. 311 Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer Question:  Hi there. I just want to ask if there is a difference between the Viscaria blade and Zhang Jike ALC. I heard a lot of comparisons between the two from a lot of people. Some people say that ZJK ALC has more dwell time compared to the Viscaria blade and Vice versa, and many other stuffs.I just want to hear input from you guys. I’ve been doing a lot of equipment reviews, vlogs, and discussions with my friends so any information coming from you would be helpful to us here. Thanks a lot, Good day Answer:

This Ask the Experts question was answered by Truong Tu. Truong plays at the Silicon Valley Table Tennis Club in San Jose, CA. Coach Tu’s response is as follows:
Hi Eduard,

The Zhang Jike ALC is less head-heavy, so the blade is more solid when you wave it. It is notably faster, especially when counter-looping and lifting underspin with the forehand, but still maintains some of the short game touch like the Viscaria.

The Zhang Jike ALC is quite harder in its feel which increases your power for attacking. The handle is wider than Viscaria which is more comfortable for players with larger hands.

The Zhang Jike ALC has less vibration than the Viscaria; therefore the Viscaria touch / short game still feels easier.

Best wishes!
