Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer

Question: I am currently using Innerforce Layer ZLC with tenergy 05 on forehand and tenergy 64 on backhand. I am going to switch to Zhang like super zlc in the near future, since zjk szlc is faster than the innerforce, will it be ideal to use slower/softer rubbers such as Rozena to get used to the racket?

This Ask the Experts question was answered by Sung Soo Jung. Coach Jung is the head coach at the Jung Table Tennis Club in Los Angeles, CA and his response is as follows:

Hi Allan,

Thank you for your inquiry.

While your current choice of paddle, Innerforce Layer ZLC, is a wonderful paddle that offers soft feel because of the placement of its carbon layers being closer to the core, Zhang Jike Super ZLC is an excellent choice because it features power and control.

Since you are  considering a Zhang Jike Super ZLC as your choice of paddle, is it fair to say that you are seeking more power and control from the  equipment? In my opinion, Tenergy FX series rubbers are ideal for you since they provide a softer feeling ultimately providing more control.

I hope my recommendations were helpful.
