Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer

Question: I played table tennis at league 4 years ago and I want to resume my game again which rubber stick and blade you recommend me to start again? Thank you.

Coach Steven Wang, Ask The Experts

Hi Julian,

Based on your previous equipment, apparently you prefer a hard blade/soft sponge rubber combination.

I would recommend Amultart blade and Tenergy 05FX rubber as your playing weapon. Amultart is a thick carbon blade like Gergely but grabs the ball better because of additional Zylon fiber. Tenergy 05FX is a very spiny soft sponge rubber with good speed. This setup is more suitable for the new 40+ plastic ball.

Best wishes!
