Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer

Question: Hi, I am wondering how the Innerforce Layer ZLC, Viscaria, or Timo Boll ALC blades would compare for me. I play a game based heavily on blocking at the table and then mid distance looping, controlled spin, and counterlooping. I am around 21-2200 level USATT. Are there any aspects that would make one of these three blades better than the others, and are the speed levels all similar or is the Innerforce significantly slower? Thanks.

Your Ask the Experts question was answered by Jinxin Wang. He is a Coach at Google in Mountain View, California. Coach Wang’s response is as follows:

Hi Christian,

The Viscaria seems to be the best offensive blade to suit your needs.

You will be able to easily impart more spin on the ball, and mid distance looping will be more powerful. For counter looping at a farther distance, you will feel confident and in control.

The Innerforce blades are a little slower in comparison.

Best Wishes!

Coach Wang
