Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer

Blade: Timo Boll W7
Forehand Rubber: Hurricane 3 Neo National
Backhand Rubber: Evolution MX-P

Question: Right now I have a Timo Boll W7 blade, but even though I love the power, it is just too heavy for me. Do you have any suggestions for a blade that is lighter, but as powerful?

Also, I need a backhand rubber that is spinny, but light at the same time, and a lot of rebound.

Answer: Hi Eric,

Thanks for the question! If you’re a fan of the Timo Boll series like I am, I’d strongly recommend the Timo Boll ALC based on the specs you mentioned. It’s the lightest of the series and is a bit faster than the W7 as well.

As for your backhand rubber, it sounds like Tenergy 05-FX may be what you’re looking for. It’s spinny, has very good bounce, and is on the softer side as far as Tenergy goes.

Getting used to new equipment always takes some time but I think you’ll enjoy this combination very much. Thanks again for the question and feel free to reach out to us again if you’d like any other suggestions. Best of luck with your game!
