Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer

Blade: Mizutani ZLC ST
Forehand: Bryce High Speed
Backhand: Tenergy 05

Question: I am wanting to know, how much better is the Mizutani Super ZLC vs. the Mizutani ZCL. I am also wanting to know, if using Tenergy 05 FX over 05 will lighten the over all weight with reducing spin or speed.
I am a disabled American combat veteran from the Iraq war and I am using Table Tennis to rehab my eye hand coordination and brain function. I love this sport and progressing very well. I am just trying to refine my equipment to get the most out of my play. I am an attacker and want a fast accurate blade and rubber to make the most out of each shot I make. Any suggestions would be great and if there is another blade that might work better let me know. I have already owned the Zhang Jike ALC, I thought was a bit slow, and the Garaydia T5000 which was fast but hard to control.

Coach Byeong Cheol Lee, Ask The ExpertsAnswer: Hi Larry,

I haven’t used Mizutani Jun ZLC and Mizutani Jun Super ZLC because I don’t like a carbon paddle. It is too fast. That means hard to control when you block or when you play short cut (net ball). So I used Petr Korbel for a long time. But now I’m using Viscaria because the ball change to plastic so I needed a fast one. I tried Zhang Jike ZLC  this is good one. But that was too fast for me I couldn’t control well. And then I tried Viscaria it was perfect for me. This one also carbon but not too fast and I could control. If you care about short ball (like a flip) I’m sure Viscaria will be fantastic for you.

And I’m confusing your question about Tenergy 05 FX weight. As far as I know weight is the same. I’m using Tenergy 05 both sides but I’d like to recommend to you 05 FX  because I think 05 FX is more softer than 05, so it is good for when you play close to the table and 05 FX has more spin.

I hope this is helping you.

Thanks,
