by Barbara Wei

The 2016 Arnold Table Tennis Challenge presented by Butterfly is a 4-star table tennis tournament held in conjunction with the world famous Arnold Sports Festival on Columbus, OH. This year’s table tennis event features an additional full day of competition on Friday, March 4th which includes 5 new tiered round robin events and 9 Senior events (40+ years old). Over $10,000 in prize money will be awarded in 35 events over the course of the 3 day competition, with the winner of the Open Singles event walking away with $3,000. The tournament will be held in the same location as 2015 (the Ohio Expo Center) in a 70,000 sq. foot space with 50 Butterfly tables, Gerflor (red flooring), fully barriered courts and Olympic level lighting. Live streaming and media coverage will be provided by Butterfly throughout the weekend.

Competitors at the Arnold Table Tennis Challenge can expect to not only enjoy an exciting weekend of table tennis competition, but also to experience the energy and excitement of the world famous Arnold Sports Festival.  With more than 50 different sports and an expected quarter million attendees, participation in Arnold Table Tennis Challenge at the Arnold Sports Festival will be an experience unlike any other. Table tennis competitors will be able to access all other sporting events including gymnastics, cheerleading, jump rope, body building, swimming among many others.

The Arnold Table Tennis Challenge is a unique opportunity for recreational and elite table tennis players alike to participate in one of the largest sports festivals in the world. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a fan of the sport, will visit the venue on the last day of competition to play with a few lucky competitors and fans.
