World Table Tennis visits Argentina this week with the WTT Youth Contender Salta 2022 in Salta, Argentina.  The Boys Singles events have all concluded, and the top prize in the featured U19 Boys Singles event went to Puerto Rico’s Angel Naranjo.  Angel Luis Naranjo Lopez has reached a new level in recent years with a Puerto Rican National Championship in 2019, and a series of Semifinal and Final appearances in the Latin America and Europe over the last two years.  In this week’s action, Angel won his Quarterfinal match 3-0, and his Semifinal match 3-1, before topping Venezuela’s Cesar Augusto Castillo 3-2 in the Final.

Castillo was the top seed in the U17 event, and he cruised to victory with 3-0, 3-0, and 3-1 wins.  Another Venezuelan Carlos Josue Alberto Rios Romero won the Boys U15 event. Brazil won both of of the younger age events with Felipe Yoshihiro De Melo winning the U13, and Flavio De Sousa winning the U11 event.

Girls Singles events start tomorrow, so there will be lots of action on tap for the weekend.
