WAB FEATURED CLUB: Canadian Elite Table Tennis Training Centre

(by Steve Hopkins)

The Canadian Elite Table Tennis Training Centre (“the Centre” or “Elite”) is a table tennis club and training center in Mississauga, Ontario. Mississauga is just to the West of Toronto, about 30 kilometers from the city center.  The facility is just off the Ontario 401 Express, easily accessible to the greater Toronto area.

The Centre is open 7 days a week and offers excellent lighting, Butterfly tables, table tennis flooring and a pro-shop. They have resident Canadian certified coaches and offer basic training options for beginning players and advanced training for elite players.  This year, Canadian Elite table Tennis Training Centre was designated as a Provincial Team Training Centre where all Ontario Team Mini Cadet Group Trainings are to be held.

The Centre is open to the general public, though at this time players should check the website for COVID-19 restrictions. Players of all skill levels are welcome to come and enjoy the facility.   Several of their juniors regularly compete at the Butterfly Canada Cup. Last year, the Canada Hopes (U12) was a featured event with fierce competition, but juniors from Elite managed to secure medals.
