Butterfly Table Tennis Question and Answer

Question:

Hello, My name is Daniel Boznea and i live in Romania. At the moment, i play with Mizutani ZLC and Dignics 05, 2.1 mm. If i were to go to Dignics 09 c, you can tell me what i would win and what i would lose? I want to tell you that I run topspin on both forehand and backhand. (When i am close to the table, the forehand topspin is very brushed). I can’t wait for your answer. Thank you very much and I WISH YOU ALL TO STAY HEALTHY.

Hello Nilesh

Thanks for your question. The Apolonia is a great choice in a blade, but the way I would like for you to look it at the rubber choice is, how far to you stand from the table.

Rubber Ranges

Tenergy 05 is a high arc short trajectory rubber, and it is suited for players that are executing close to the table attack and counter-attacks.

Tenergy 80 is a medium arc medium trajectory rubber. This rubber is suited for players that want the ball be in the middle of the table, which gives them some safe play with regards to the depth.

Tenergy 64 is low arc long trajectory rubber. This rubber is suited for players that are interested in power player, and spend most of their time playing mid to long distance from the table to ensure that they can unload their power, but not play the ball off the end of the table.

Butterfly has spent an incredible amount of time creating these ranges so you as the player could fit yourself into the correct rubber without having to change the way you play, or be frustrated with your shots not playing the way you feel they should.

Acclimation Period
For whatever rubber you choose, please allow 15 training session, or 4 to 6 weeks to pass for the acclimation period. During this period is when you will understand what is happening when missing your shots, and allow the micro-adjustments to be made to the stroke effort, as well adapting the ball trajectory. This is the period that most players won’t let them start and complete, because the frustration becomes too much at seeing their most organic shots miss the table. So, please emphasize your performance over result for this period.

Good Luck!
