In 2018, a 17 year old Chinese Taipei player made an amazing jump in the ratings – moving up about 100 spots to break into the Top 30.  That feat was perhaps eclipsed in 2019 when Lin Yun-Ju moved from No. 28 to No. 6, scoring tour wins at the T2 Diamond and the Czech Open.

The video below is not a final win, its a high-pressure Men’s World Cup Bronze Medal match against World No. 3 Ma Long that was played in China.  Yun-Ju is 5 foot 9 and has good reach for a table tennis player.  He does not have devastating power, but he can hit every shot from every place on the table and as one ITTF article correctly stated at the close of 2019, he always seems to be in the right place.  Even against the best Chinese players, it is Yun-Ju that always appears to be a step ahead.  He is just 19, so his prime is still a few years away.  But as you’ll see from the video below, the sky is the limit for Lin Yun-Ju.
