Medals Earned in Puerto Rico on Father’s Day
2015 Puerto Rico Junior & Cadet Open – ITTF Junior Circuit
On Father’s Day June 21st, medals were distributed at the 2015 Puerto Rico Junior and Cadet Open.
Argentina’s Fermin Tenti claimed gold in the Junior Boy’s Singles when he secured the match against Puerto Rico’s Brian Afanador 4-2 (11-9,8-11,3-11,11-6,12-10,11-2). In the semifinals, Brian overcame Horacio Cifuentes of Argentina 4-3 and Fermin defeated Brazil’s Gustavo Yokota 4-0.
Bruna Takahashi of Brazil won the Junior Girls Singles gold medal. Bruna faced Puerto Rico’s Adriana Diaz in the final, a rematch from the Cadet Girls Singles final earlier in the day. This time Bruna was stepped up to the top of the podium. She defeated Adriana 4-2 (11-8,9-11,12-10,11-6,8-11,11-9). United States Angela Guan gained the Junior Girls bronze medal, she lost 2-4 to Bruna in the semifinals. The other semifinalist was Leticia Nakada of Brazil, she lost to Adriana 3-4.

In the Cadet Girls Singles final, Adriana Diaz claimed the gold medal. She defeated Bruna Takahashi 3-2 (11-4,12-10,8-11,9-11,11-3).
Canada’s Jeremy Hazin won gold when he secured the Cadet Boys Singles final against Argentina’s Martin Bentancor 3-1 (13-15,11-9,11-8,12-10).
