US OPEN FINALS PREPARES TO ROCK LAS VEGAS

USATT to Host Finals of the 2015 US Open at OMNIA Nightclub in Las Vegas 

June 16, 2015 (Colorado Springs, CO)USA Table Tennis CEO Gordon Kaye announced today that the finals of the 2015 US Open will be held at OMNIA Nightclub at Caesars Palace, in Las Vegas, on Saturday, July 11th. Doors will open at 6:15pm, with the Women’s Singles finals held at 6:45pm followed by the Men’s Singles finals at 7:45pm. (*Ticketing information below.)

“With over 1,000 athletes representing 33 countries competing in this year’s Open, we thought it was more than fitting that the Finals be held in one of the premier locations in Las Vegas,” commented Kaye. “OMNIA is going to be an amazing setting to see some of the best table tennis players in the world go head-to-head in a venue the likes this sport has never seen in the United States.”

The Men’s and Women’s Singles highlight what will be the biggest US Open in the 80-year history of USA Table Tennis. The 2015 Open, the largest table tennis tournament in North America featuring 98 events, kicks off on July 6th at the Las Vegas Convention Center and runs through Saturday, July 11th at 4pm, at which point all attention will move over to OMNIA for the Men’s and Women’s singles finals.

Men’s and women’s singles action will start on Tuesday, July 7th at the LVCC, with the semi-finals played on Friday night (July 10th). Friday night’s activities also include the “World’s Biggest Ping Pong Pool Party” at The LINQ Hotel & Casino at 8pm which is free and open to the public.

“Ping pong is a global sport, and we are excited to work with USATT to take it to the next level in the United States,” added Robert Urichuk, Vice President of Sales for the Hakkasan Group. “We are looking forward to bringing table tennis into the limelight at our state-of-the-art venue, OMNIA.”

This year’s men’s Open field features 2014 International Table Tennis Federation Star Athlete of the Year, Quadri Aruna (Nigeria), as he looks to take control of a field that includes Adrian Crisan (Romania), Bojan Tokic (Slovenia), 2014 Men’s Open champion Tao Wen Zhang (China), Marcos Madrid (Mexico), and a host of US challengers including 2014 US National Champion Jimmy Butler (Texas) and 15-year old phenom Kanak Jha (California).

The US Women’s Pan American Team (Jiaqi Zheng, Lily Zhang, and Jennifer Wu) highlight an equally talented women’s field that includes 2014 US Open champion Yuko Fujii (Japan), Elisabeta Samara (Romania), and Monika Molnar (Serbia).

*At the finals, located at OMNIA Nightclub on Saturday, July 11th a limited number of courtside tables, which include up to ten (10) seats and waitress service, are available now by calling (719) 866-4583 (x. 5) or via email atAndrew.Horn@usatt.org. Tables will be sold on a first-come-first serve basis. US Open participants and tournament pass holders will receive complimentary general admission to the finals at OMNIA, with lower level VIP upgrades available.
