Apex, North Carolina.
Carolina International Table Tennis Academy hosted the 2026 Butterfly CITTA Fall Championship on October 25, welcoming 52 players for 180 matches across three divisions.
The U-2300 event was fully booked with 24 players, while U-1700 welcomed 26 players and Open Singles had 24 players. With some players competing in multiple divisions, the tournament recorded 74 event entries.
The USATT-sanctioned 1-star event marked CITTA’s third sanctioned tournament in the region this year, continuing the academy’s efforts to provide accessible competition for the local table tennis community.
CITTA owner Di Yu served as tournament director, working alongside tournament referee Michael Levene and volunteers to organize the event. Their contributions helped create another opportunity for players of different ages and experience levels to compete close to home.
For local enthusiasts, these tournaments offer a chance to put training into practice, gain experience in USATT-rated competition and meet opponents beyond their usual practice partners. Hosting events in Apex also helps reduce the travel and expense often required to participate in sanctioned tournaments.
The championship offered more than $1,000 in prizes and giveaways. Final results were:
| Event | Champion | Runner-up | Third Place | Fourth Place |
| Open Singles | Louis Levene | Pranav Sridhar | Jintao Lee | Michael Chen |
| U-2300 | Louis Levene | Pranav Sridhar | Jintao Lee | Ryan Tao |
U-1700: Champion — Carlos Cardona; Runner-up — Yug Jain; Semifinalists — Deepesh Karmacharya and Rudra Jain.
CITTA thanks Butterfly, the officials, volunteers, players and families for supporting the championship. Their involvement helps make local tournaments possible and contributes to a welcoming, active table tennis community.
Through regular training, weekly leagues and sanctioned tournaments, CITTA continues to provide opportunities for more people to enjoy the sport and develop their game.
