Long–term partnership to elevate India’s premier table tennis league and expand the sport’s ecosystem nationwide.

Tokyo, April 6, 2026: Tamasu Co., Ltd. (Butterfly) has signed a landmark five–year title sponsorship agreement with Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT), India’s premier professional table tennis league. The partnership will see the league officially rebranded as Butterfly Ultimate Table Tennis, starting with the upcoming Season 7 in Goa.

As part of the agreement, Butterfly will serve as the title sponsor of the league from Season 7 in 2026 through Season 11 in 2030. Butterfly will supply equipment to support broader initiatives across the UTT ecosystem, aligning closely with efforts to drive greater participation and enhance the visibility of table tennis across India. Butterfly will also work to strengthen grassroots development through initiatives such as the Butterfly Ultimate Table Tennis Challenger Cup, local leagues, and academy programs.

Commenting on the announcement, Vita Dani, Co–Promoter, Ultimate Table Tennis, said:
“Bringing a global leader like Butterfly on board as our title sponsor is a defining moment for table tennis in India, and the trust placed in UTT by a globally respected Japanese brand is a clear indicator that India is emerging as a force in the world of table tennis.
From day one, our ambition has been to build something that lasts—not just a league, but a strong and enduring ecosystem for the sport—and this partnership is a powerful step in that direction.

Together, we have the opportunity to shape the future of Indian table tennis—by giving our athletes access to world–class infrastructure and equipment, making one of the sport’s most respected brands more accessible, and creating a sustainable pathway that nurtures talent for generations to come.”

Speaking on the occasion, Takako Osawa, CEO, Tamasu Co., Ltd. (Butterfly), said:
“We are deeply honored to take this new step as the title sponsor alongside UTT, which continues to lead the development of table tennis in India, and to support its journey over the long term. We are committed not only to providing equipment, but also to creating new connections through table tennis and supporting everyone involved in the sport. Through this partnership, we hope to bring the appeal of table tennis to a broader audience and contribute to even greater value and expansion in the table tennis community in India.”

In addition to its involvement with the league, Butterfly will work alongside UTT to strengthen grassroots development through initiatives such as the Butterfly Ultimate Table Tennis Challenger Cup, local leagues, and academy programs. These efforts are aimed at ensuring year–round engagement with the sport and building a seamless pipeline of talent from the grassroots to the professional level.

Over the years, the league has played a pivotal role in elevating table tennis in India, supporting nine academies and over 400 young athletes nationwide, partnering with the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) as title sponsor for National Championships and Ranking Tournaments, and launching the Table Tennis Super League (TTSL) to boost state–level competition.
