The Americans were the second seed in the Men’s Team event, and they performed exactly as seeded. The defeated Brazil 3-1 in the Semifinal, and then narrowly fell 2-3 to top seeded Argentina. In that final set of matches, Kanak Jha logged both wins, and Argentina outlasted the rest of TeamUSA to win the other three matches.
In the Women’s Team event, TeamUSA was again the second seed. This time, the top seed was Brazil and it was Puerto Rico who upset the Brazilians 3-1 in the Semifinals. The American did their part with a 3-0 win over Chile in the other Semifinal, but Puerto Rico continued with their momentum and defeated TeamUSA 3-1 in the Final.
