Apolonia ZLC + Dignics 09C + Dignics 09C Racket Review

(by Bowmar Sports)

In this video, Coach Brian Pace reviews and dives deep into one of Butterfly’s elite racket combinations: The Apolonia ZLC blade paired with Dignics 09C rubbers on both sides.

The Apolonia ZLC is a unique creation in Butterfly’s lineup, known for its ZL Carbon composition, which blends the softness of Zylon with the stiffness of carbon fiber. Unlike traditional carbon blades, the Apolonia ZLC places its composite layers closer to the core, enhancing dwell time and giving players more feeling and control during contact.

The Rubber: Dignics 09C

Paired with the blade are Dignics 09C rubbers, known for their tacky topsheet and high-tension sponge. These rubbers are engineered for maximum spin generation and directional control, allowing advanced players to engage in aggressive topspin rallies without losing stability.

Pace highlights the rubber’s ability to grip the ball deeply, especially on opening loops and counter-attacks. The rubber excels not only in spin production but also in blocking and short play, making it a versatile option for offensive players.

Coach Pace emphasizes that this blade is ideal for players who appreciate the responsiveness of an all-wood blade but want the added boost and stability that ZL Carbon offers. It is the identical combination used by Tiago Apolonia of Portugal.
