Gold Rush and Blasters Atop MLTT Standings

(by Steve Hopkins)

With all teams having played 13 matches, its Carolina Gold Rush in first place in the East, and the Bay Area Blasters in first in the West.  Each team is two wins ahead of the closest competitor.  The Carolina Gold Rush are 11-2 and second place in the East is the Florida Crocs who are 9-4.  In the West, the Bay Area Blasters are 8-5 and the Seattle Spinners are 6-7 in their second place position.

As you’d expect, the Gold Rush have two of the top scorers with Enzo Angles logging a 20-7 Singles Record and a power rating of 796.5 that puts him in first overall, and Hong Lin who is 0-3 in Singles but who has won 19 Doubles matches and one of the highest Golden Game percentages and is in third overall in the power ratings with a rating of 757.9.  As a contrast, the Blasters team is leading the West and its top two players are No. 6 and No. 7 in the standings.

Kou Lei has the best Singles percentage (he plays for Portland), but he has not performed nearly as well in Doubles or Golden Games – so while he is the strongest singles player overall, he is only second in Power Rating.  Other top scorers are Ojo Onaolapo of the Florida Crocs and Kanamitsu Koyo of the Princeton Revolution who are No. 4 and 5, respectively.

The next action is scheduled for January 5-7 in the East and Jan 26-28 in the West.  Those matches will be held in Broward County (East Division, Davie Florida) and in Portland Oregon (at the Portland Expo Center).  Visit   mltt.com/schedule   for more information.
