Four players from Elite TTTC, a Bowmar Sports sponsored club, participated in the 2023 TTCAN Target Group Selection on Apr 29-30. This tournament puts a spotlight on young athletes aged 14 and below, with the goal of forming the Team Canada Roster for the 2028/2032 Olympics. Prior to entering this event, these players had successfully qualified through the provincial selection, each securing a gold medal in their respective age categories.

Despite having taken a nearly two-year break due to the pandemic, the players from Elite TTTC made a remarkable comeback in their second competitive season. They have showcased a great performance and achieved outstanding results at the 2023 TTCAN Target Group Selection:

Amber Lin – U11 Girls Gold
Wendy Xie – U12 Girls Bronze
Kevin Yang – U11 Boys Bronze
Julia Lin – U14 Girls Fifth

In the Canadian rating system, Amber is currently ranked #1 nationally for U11 Girls, and Kevin is currently ranked #1 nationally for U9 Boys.

The athletes were thrilled to have been selected to partake in such an important national event. Amber expressed her initial nervousness, stating, “I felt nervous before the competition because I have to face other top-level players in the country, but I’m very happy in the end that I got first place.”

Julia celebrated the success of her teammates, sharing, “The medal ceremony was filled with an exhilarating, intense and thrilling atmosphere, and due to the massive crowd of supporting families and friends, I wasn’t able to fit into a spot in the front, only able to see my friends going up the podium on the side. I felt genuinely happy for them.”

Overall, it was an excellent experience for all the athletes, and they are now more enthusiastic and motivated than ever as they resumed their training
