ESPN2 Broadcast Final of 2016 Women’s World Cup of Table Tennis
ESPN2 and ESPN3 To Carry Top Women’s Table Tennis Event of the Year Live from Philadelphia

September 30, 2016 (Colorado Springs, CO) – USATT CEO Gordon Kaye announced today that the finals of the Seamaster 2016 ITTF Women’s World Cup of Table Tennis will be broadcast live on ESPN2 on Sunday, October 9th at 7pm ET. ESPN3 will air over five hours of live programming leading up to the final as well.  All quarterfinal, semifinal and Finals matches will stream live on WatchESPN and the ESPN App.

“Table tennis fans now across the country will get the chance to tune in on ESPN2 and ESPN3 and see the world’s best women play for one of the most prestigious titles in our sport, ” said Kaye. “Hosting the tournament here in the United States and having it broadcast on ESPN is a huge step forward in the promotion and growth of our sport here.”

The Seamaster 2016 Women’s World Cup of Table Tennis features the top female table tennis players in the world competing for $150,000 in prize money. This year’s event, which is being held at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, PA, is the first time a World Cup singles event has been hosted in the United States.

The broadcast schedule includes (all time Eastern Standard Time):

Saturday, October 8
7:00pm – 10:00pm Quarter Finals (4 matches) ESPN3/WatchESPN
Sunday, October 9
2:00pm – 4:00pm Semi-Finals (2 mathes) ESPN3/WatchESPN
6:00pm – 7:00pm 3rd/4th Place Match ESPN3/WatchESPN
7:00pm – 8:00pm Final ESPN2/WatchESPN
