ICC To Host The 2016 ITTF North American Championships

Possibly the last ITTF North American Championships will take place in Milpitas, California at one of North America’s prime table tennis facilities. Rajul Sheth and his dedicated group of volunteers will host the event at the ICC in Milpitas.

The event will consist of team competition only. The winners of the events will represent North America in the 2017 World Team Cup events.

Why possibly the last Championships? As of 2017, ITTF North America and the Latin American Table Tennis Union have agreed to a PANAM competition calendar that will feature a PANAM Championships, a PANAM Cup and a PANAM Junior Championships to provide better competition opportunities for players in the Americas. 

Both associations also believe that PANAM events will create a better product for TV and be more attractive to sponsors – both of these important aspects will benefit the promotion of table tennis and its athletes in the Americas.
