U2150 - 2022 Butterfly Upside Down Tournament

2022 Butterfly Upside Down Tournament

(By: Triangle TT Club Team)

Our Butterfly May Upside Down Tournament drew 97 players which was a record high! We love this style of tournament as the prize money is flipped which means the U1000 event has the most prize money.

What other sport(s) can you have an 80 year old and 7 year old as Champions?

Notable Player Performances!!!:

Paul Nielsen – At 80 years of age, travelled all the way from Rochester NY, crowned Champion of U1550!

Jacob Kordus – At 7 years of age, Champion U1700 (Gained +285 Rating Points), jumping to #4 in the US for Boys U10

Xinhai Zhang – Champion U1000 / Champion U1300 / 3rd Place U1550 (Gained +539 Rating Points)

Roberto Morales (2021) – Champion U2150, despite losing a match in group RR play to Sara Gulabani (1758), Roberto found his stride making his way to the finals. He played a very tough opponent, Shiguang Lu, who was on “fire” in this event. Shiguang player Roberto very close send the match all the way to 11-9 in the 5th.

Thank you to all the participants for making this event great!
