(by Steve Hopkins)

The USATT completed the 2021 National U19 and U15 Team Trials today at the ICC Table Tennis Center in Milpitas, California.  The top juniors from all over the country competed – with the largest event the U19 Boys event with 44 competitors.

The U19 Boys winner was Sid Karesh.  Sid was followed by Nandan Naresh, Aziz Zarehbin and Jayden Zhou.  Rachel Sung won the U19 Girls event with Sally Moyland, Sarah Jalli, and Joanna Sung in the following three positions.  The top four finishers in the Boys U15 were Nandan Naresh, Daniel Tran, Jenson Feng, and Darryl Tsao.  The top four finishers in the U15 Girls event were Sally Moyland, Sarah Jalli, Emily Tan, and Faith Hu.

The top team position has been reserved for the 2021 US National Champion in each of these events – so those that fell short of the team still have a chance in Las Vegas this Summer, and among those who did compete in these Trials there is an opportunity to improve their position by winning in Las Vegas.
