2021 Butterfly Invitational write up and photos

The Butterfly Invitational Tournament was a major success at Triangle Badminton and Table Tennis! This event ran over the course of 4 days, pulled in 116 players from 13 different states which included: Maryland, Louisiana, Virginia, New York, Minnesota, Georgia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, California, Texas, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and North Carolina.

There were over 740 matches played in this tournament. Some notable performances are:

Sharon Alguetti – 29-0, winning all 3 events: Thursday Open Champion, 1800 & Over Champion, and Main Event Division A Champion.

Terri Yu was 482 rated entering the tournament – gained a WHOPPING 997 rating points, had a match record of 14-5, beating players as high as 1680! Terrie won the U1100 Event and came in 2nd Place in the U1500.

Gauravdeep Aulakh was 516 rated entering the tournament – gained 519 rating points beating players 1127 and 1474

Brian Wu was 1471 rated entering the tournament – gained 264 rating points, had a match record of 18-10, beat 4 players rated over 1700 and 1 player over 1800

Ryan Lee, Mu Du, and Jeff Milford all had themselves a tremendous tournament and gained over 100 rating points for their efforts.
