The 2018 Butterfly Southeastern Giant Round Robin tournament will begin on October 19 and will end on Sunday, October 21.  The tournament features five rated events and $7,500 in prizes making this a 4-star rated USATT event.  Triangle Table Tennis is the event host at their facility in Morrisville, North Carolina.

This event will begin on Friday with a Pre-Tournament Training Camp.  Two warm-up singles events will also occur on Friday evening:  U1800 and 1800+.  The featured event is the Giant Round Robin which will feature over a hundred players and will fill the facility on Saturday and Sunday.  Sunday will conclude with two other events, the U1000 and U1650 singles events.

Triangle Table Tennis has a reputation for unique tournaments.  They are the annual host of the Cary Cup tournament, a 160 player giant round robin that is one of the largest tournaments in the US.  They also regularly run Two-Person teams and Brazilian teams events.  Triangle Table Tennis continues to find innovative ways to draw tournament players from up and down the East coast, and to cement North Carolina as a regional table tennis hub.

The Giant Round Robin format is an innovative approach to a regional open tournament – as it allows every player entered a chance to win.  A year ago, the top two finishers in Division A were Jishan Liang and Yichi Zhang, two of the highest rated players in the country.

The Triangle Table Tennis center is an amazing facility with 25,000 square feet of playing area, professional quality Gerfloor flooring, 17-foot ceilings, high intensity lighting, and 40 Butterfly tables.  They have been host to Olympic Trials, US Team Trials, Collegiate events, and high-level training camps.  This is an ideal location to compete in an environment tailored for elite table tennis.
