On April 6th, 2017, we celebrated ITTF’s 3rd annual World Table Tennis Day for All: a day for people of all ages, all backgrounds, and all levels around the world to celebrate the sport of table tennis. It is not only a sport that is about competition, but also it is a sport that can bring together people and share the joy, friendships, and fun.
This was my second time organizing an event for World Table Tennis Day, which was celebrated this year at F5 Networks in San Jose, California. We held a short exhibition which was then followed by singles, doubles, and challenge matches both at regular-sized tables and mini-tables. It was a chance for the engineers at F5 not only to relax and have fun but also to bond with each other over this sport. Thank you to F5, James Goodwin, and local clubs for supporting this event and making it possible!
World Table Tennis Day is a great way to promote table tennis not only in the US but also in the world. It connects all people, introducing people to the sport and sharing the fun of table tennis. Table tennis have given us a lot, and this is a wonderful opportunity to give back. Celebrate 2018 World Table Tennis Day next year on April 6th!
