2017 USATT Election

Posted on

By USATT

Notice to USA Table Tennis Members:

The USATT membership will soon be voting to select one of its two representatives on the USATT Board of Directors. The representative will be new to the position. Mike Babuin has served two four-year terms in the position, and the Bylaw’s term limit provisions do not allow him to seek a third consecutive term.

The Nominating and Governance Committee published a request for candidates. Attila Malek and Rajul Sheth have stepped forward. The Committee has vetted both of the applications and both names will be placed on the ballot. (You can read position announcement here.)

USA Table Tennis has vetted both candidates and confirms that both meet the requirements set forth in the USATT Bylaws.

To be considered an eligible voter, a member must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a current member of USATT, in good standing.
  • Have been a member of USATT for at least 60 days prior to the start of the voting period (meaning since November 14, 2016).
  • Be 18 years old or older as of the start of the voting period.

An email will be sent out to all eligible voters on January 14th, 2017. That ballot will contain a link to the Survey Monkey page, which is the voting instrument. Members can also download a paper ballot here. Paper ballots must be returned to USATT Headquarters by January 28, 2017. All votes will be verified and counted by the United State Olympic Committee.

The voting period will run from January 14th through January 28th, 2017. The results will be announced on or about February 3, 2017.
