Situated in New Jersey, the Lily Yip Table Tennis Center was the recent home for an ITTF North American Junior Girls’ Training Camp; proceedings commenced on Sunday August 2nd and concluded on Sunday August 9th.

High-level facilities greeted the eight players; Canada was represented by Alicia Cote, Ivy Liao, Amy Nichols, and Justina Yeung; for the United States the nominations were Amy Wang, Tina Lin, Joy Li and Ishana Deb.

Head coaches were Canada’s David Jacques and Lily Yip from the United States, the person responsible for the center, who enlisted the leading coaches from the center to assist with proceedings.

Support Cast
Ruichao Chen, Jianho Sun and Yuxiang Jin all supported, as did Judy Hugh alongside junior players Joseph Baptista, Sean Gao, Shirley Hu and Edina Haracic.

Furthermore, Hai Yan Wen, Qing Ya Yi, Jack Wang and Tony Liu from the Southern China University were all present. Notably and most welcome was Scott Boggan, former United States National champion.

Full Range of Styles
Markedly, a full range of styles was available for practice; defenders, attackers using reversed rubber on both sides of the racket and those who preferred short pimples.

Home for the whole proceedings was the second floor of the center with two sessions being held each day, each comprising two and a half hours.

Physical training was also included with one half day being allocated to sightseeing, visit to the Statue of Liberty being the order of affairs.

Second Time
It was the second ITTF North American Team Training Camp at the Lily Yip Table Tennis Center and again as previously proved a great success.
