Jha Aims for Title Defense and Beyond to 2020

Teen sensation Kanak Jha has his eyes firmly set on the future as he returns for training in Sweden with a number of high profile events coming up for him. As he heads to Slovenia tomorrow for the ITTF Challenge Series World Tour Slovenia Open, his long term sights are firmly set upon Tokyo 2020 Olympics, for him the campaign is already beginning.

“I am extremely motivated to not only represent USA in 2020 Olympic Games but also compete and win against the best players in the world,” says Jha, who will return to the USA to compete in the 2017 US National Championships where he will be fighting to defend his 2016 Men’s Singles title. Of course last year he made an unbelievable comeback to steal the match away in the clutches of the 7th game from top seed Yijun Feng his fellow Rio Olympic teammate.

The youngest ever Olympic table tennis player will have a busy schedule ahead, also preparing for the 2017 World Table Tennis Championships in Dusseldorf, Germany at the end of next month. Jha will also be aiming to represent the USA at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games where he could potentially find more success. 3 years ago it was Lily Zhang who brought home bronze in the girl’s singles in Nanjing. Could Kanak Jha go all the way from qualification to the medals in Buenos Aires?

Better yet what could he achieve in Tokyo 2020 if he makes it to his second Olympics? His campaign has already begun, you can support his journey as he works hard to achieve success and follow his ambitions.
