The New York Table Tennis League Newsletter

The New York Table Tennis League
Editorial - A great closing ceremony we had last Friday at International Table Tennis Club in Flushing, NY. With a simple elimination tournament we finished the season 2009 of our league, the winner was coach Li Yuxiang. Our team ITTC with players from China, France, Chile and US had the best combination of organization, commitment and level among all teams in the Honor Division of the NYTTL. The New York Table Tennis League Newsletter

The New York Table Tennis League Editorial - Finally we are on the final week of the New York Table Tennis League, the first club based league in US. I am very happy of completing this third season of the league; I wish I had statistics about number of players, matches or miles traveled for every team. But I have very good memories, about all matches we played, and all sort of... Read the New York Table Tennis League Newsletter (Newsletter #9, October 27, 2009) to find out more

Downtown ManhattanEditorial League - We are in the last month of our competition. The NYTTL have been similar to a marathon, where organizational and technical skills have been tested to their maximum. Players from the same club pursuing a common goal as no other Club contest in US. Friendship and fun have been some of the results for the teams that have succeed in the league. League Director Spotlight

Bruce Liu

Bruce Liu of the BATTF

The San Francisco Bay area is home to Apple, Google, Yahoo and many other big ideas. Bruce Liu of Milpitas, CA has his own big idea, the Bay Area Table Tennis Federation. Founded in 2006, BATTF is arguably the most successful team league in the country and Bruce is striving to make it the Bundesliga of Germany.

The BATTF 2009 Fall Season is scheduled to begin September 19, 2009 with 42 Teams registered and 7 Divisions planned including a Cadet Division. A new playing format will be introduced this season which will allow more team members to participate in each league match!

The New York Table Tennis League

Downtown ManhattanEditorial League - The NYTTL is getting more exciting. The last match between DA and ITTC was an example how leagues are a very attractive event for all kind of players. Literally the club activity suddenly stopped because of the match between both teams. All players eventually stop playing their matches to watch the games. Even some visitors, new players, enjoyed the expertise and experience of the League Players. 1st San Francisco Hardbat Fest of 2009

This past Saturday afternoon, February 28, 2009, between 1:30 and 5:30PM, eight hardbatters, one "liha" enthusiast (plain wood paddle – no rubber, no sponge, no sandpaper), plus a favorite acquaintance of mine came together at the Potrero Hills Neighborhood House gymnasium in San Francisco to participate in the first SF Hardbat Fest of 2009.

Organized by John Lam and hosted and supported by the Twin Dragons, Mike and Dan Marinas, a giant round robin was conducted with each player slated to play the other eight. With three tables dedicated to the event, all 36 matches – each a 21 point, best 2 out of 3 game contest... Read More

Building U.S. Table Tennis...
By Mitchell Seidenfeld

Can we build table tennis in the U.S. and Canada? Absolutely! We can do it one community league at a time. When you organize a community league you are doing more than providing a place for people to play; you are building a table tennis community. In Butterfly League Table Tennis we call the entry-level leagues Community Leagues. For the purposes of this article, we will define "community leagues" in a broader sense to include any kind of league that relies on a particular community of players. We can ...Read More
