The World Junior Championships in Colombia will be held in December this year. The ITTF Development Program links its project “Ping Pong Paz” with the biggest Junior event and will invite several young players to practice, to stage friendly matches and to soak up the international table tennis atmosphere.

A Promising Cooperation
“Ping Pong Paz” is the first joint project of the ITTF with the organization Peace and Sport. Together with the Colombian Table Tennis Association, the locally based non-governmental organization “Colombianitos” and Butterfly as the equipment partner, three underprivileged regions in Colombia will benefit from the “Ping Pong Paz” project.

Coaches from the Colombian Table Tennis Association will be sent to Bogotá, Cauca and Cartagena for weekly training sessions and two or three players from each region will be invited to the World Junior Championships being staged from December 9th to 16th, 2009 in the north Colombian coast city Cartagena de Indias.

Peace and Sport’s Mission
Peace and Sport’s mission is to promote sustainable peace by raising awareness and educating youth about peace using the structuring values of sport. The Monaco based non-governmental organization is under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and leadership of President Joël Bouzou.
